A New Term is about to start at MHTS

Stepping Stones and Time to Talk classes

We are delighted to resume some of our Stepping Stones classes and Time to Talk from late September. We have taken several additional measures in line with Government guidance to ensure your health and safety while you are attending our learning programmes. Please see below the section “Welcoming you back safely”: while we are very excited to be back, there are several precautions we will ask you to follow when joining our classes.

Please note that places are limited due to the reduced class sizes. Please get in touch as soon as possible to book your place.

Home Tutoring

At present we are not able to resume our face-to-face home tutoring service. We are monitoring the situation closely and we will resume in-person home tutoring when it is safe to do so for our learners and volunteers. We are working behind the scenes to develop and improve our remote offer. If you want to make a referral, please bear in mind that we are operating a waiting list.

Welcoming you back safely to MHTS face to-face classes – our response to COVID 19

What we are doing to keep you safe

Please use the translation button in the bottom left corner below or call us for clarifications.

Keeping you safe and healthy is our number one priority. We are following expert information and advice from the UK Government and Public Health England and continue to monitor the situation closely. We at MHTS and our partners venues are implementing a number of safety measures to welcome you back safely.

Hygiene

All learners, volunteers, and staff must sanitise their hands when they come to the premises, and regularly during their stay. Hand sanitiser is made available at entry point and in the classrooms. Classrooms, crèche facilities, and equipment will be sanitised between classes. Enhanced cleaning procedures will be in place.

Social Distancing

We’re implementing a one-way system around the premises and into the classroom wherever possible. We’re running classes with smaller numbers to keep everyone safe and we have adapted the teaching spaces to reflect social distancing and cleaning requirements.

Protective Equipment

We will be providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to our staff and volunteers. Facemasks must be worn by everyone in all communal areas.

What you need do to keep yourself and others safe

We ask that you follow a few simple rules when you arrive

Stay Home If You’re Unwell

Please don’t come to our classes if you feel unwell or have COVID-19 symptoms. Anyone who experiences symptoms of COVID-19 (temperature, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, fatigue, muscular pains, a loss or change to your sense of smell) should get themselves tested and only come to the premises if they have a negative result following the test. If you have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 (someone in your family or in your support bubble; or if you have been contacted by the NHS test and trace service) you will need to self-isolate for 14 days.

Arriving / Leaving

Try to arrive no more than 10 minutes early and follow the social distancing rules while you’re waiting for the class. Leave promptly when your class finishes. If you are using our free crèche facilities, please make sure that you drop off and collect your child/children promptly at the crèche door. Parents and carers are not allowed into the crèche unless this is essential.

Face Coverings

You must wear a face covering when outside of your classroom, and we encourage you to wear it in class too when you’re not speaking. There are some people who are exempt from wearing face coverings including those with hidden disabilities. Please bring your own face covering with you.

Social Distancing and Hygiene

Respect social distancing measures at all times, in the classroom and everywhere one the premises – try to keep at least 2 metres from others as much as possible. Follow instructions from staff and volunteers, and if in doubt please ask. Make sure you use hand sanitiser on arrival.  Wash your hands and use sanitiser frequently. We also recommend the use of sanitary gloves. Bring your own water bottle.

Travel Light

We would like to minimise the number of items brought into and taken out of the premises. Please bring only the bare minimum with you and avoid sharing your belongings (stationery, books, pens, etc.) with others.

If you become unwell while on the premises, please alert a member of staff and leave immediately. You can find more information of COVID 19 symptoms and advice here:
